Confessions of Superheroes

Just watched this documentary 'Confessions of Superhero'.
The movie is about a few people who makes a living by dressing up in superhero costumes. They will strut up and down sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and hoping the tourists will ask them to pose for picture and tip them. They are not allowed to solicit tips or hassle any tourists or the cops will come and cuff them off. They can make at least 300 dollars a day or up to 549 dollars. Wow... i also want to work there!

The movie centers around 4 'superheroes' - Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and The Hulk. Some might take these 4 as delusional and without proper career but hey...aren't they making good money than many of us? But it's great to watch as they are just as normal like us and just trying to make a living with what they do best. The show talks about their triumphant and hardship.

SWEETBACK

SWEETBACK

I'm in the mood to share some of my favourites this week.
Here is another favourite of mine "SWEETBACK". This gem is hard to find and if you can get your hands on this album, you are consider lucky. I got the original from a second-hand store many yrs back. If i am not mistaken, after a few yrs frm their debut album, they came out with another called Stage 2. It's hard to find either but you can always get it in Amazon.com.

I like to listen to this after rave party last time. It helps to really chill down. I still remember by the last song...i could see the morning light and my whole body was aching and ready to sleep. Ah..one of the song is damn mellow, it could just drag your emotion down. It's called 'Walk of Ju'. And i got it here for you to listen :)
Walk of Ju

Who are they?
Sweetback is three-quarters of the Sade band, without that lady: Andrew Hale (piano, keyboards, programming), Stuart Matthewman (guitars, saxophones, programming), and Paul Spencer Denman (bass). Full Bio > Read

If anyone of you have any recommendations on songs that are similar to Sade, Sweetback, Maxwell, do let me know. I would luv to collect them.

BEHIND THE SCENE OF NEW TERMINATOR

Alright. I have watched the first 2 episodes of Terminator : Sarah Connor Chronicles. The first episode was not too bad. Quite a lot of action. Need a little time to get use to the fact that protecting the Connors now is a girl robot. I hope the storyline won't be boring in the future episodes. Like the Bionic Woman, it started out fine. After a few episodes, it wasn't interesting anymore.

Here is Behind the scene of the casts doing their photoshoot for their promotional materials:

enjoy!

MACBOOK AIR IS OUT!

Just got a chance to view the Macbook Air. It does look gorgeous. Luv to have one though but of coz after watching it, there are a few setbacks. It doesn't come with a cd drive. Aww....so you gotta fork out an amount to buy the external disk and battery is another thing i worry about. The other feature that i always joke with my friend is how one day you can do the 'pinching' and 'zooming' on the screen like the iPhone or iPod Touch. You can now do this on the trackpad! Amazing! Overall, the design itself is a killer. I heard it's around RM7k here.

CRANK THAT UP!!!!!

If you do not know who is Soulja Boy and what's the fuss all about, you better know it right now.
The song that is sweeping the US nation by storm is the highest selling digital song of all-time in history - CRANK THAT by Soulja Boy.

3 million ringtones sold and more than 28 million ppl watched their video on Youtube...and he is only 17 yrs old! The song is infectious and the dance he created is a craze in the States. I didn't hear any of the clubs in PJ playin this song. Did you? Perhaps maybe in KL.

UNBELIEVABLE ORIGAMI

When my friend told me about this young chap making Origami with unbelievable results, i was quite uninterested actually. After i watched it, i think this guy is insane. His name is Kamiya Satoshi and he luvs doing Origami. In this video below, you can see him doing a giant Phoenix - using only 1 big sheet of paper. AND he could remember all the more-than-1300 steps?? This guy is pure genius. I wonder what goes on in his mind when he looked at the paper.

WOW??? Not yet....watch below as well:

Cloverfield

Cloverfield - the movie that let everyone guessing what monster is that; is going to open at our cinemas soon. TERMINATOR IS BACK....ON TV

Wow....a Terminator tv series.
Downloading now, babes.

The tv series is directed by the company who did T3 and upcoming T4. Like other Terminator fans, we don't fancy T3. This time around the 'good' Terminator or Terminatress (is there such a word?)is a girl! Aiyo...wtf!

Anyway, we all know the Terminator story and how far can the tv series go? There will be a lot of character development and i guess there will be a lot of time travel back and forth. But i guess it's better than no show to download. It's good to kill some time on a Sunday afternoon.

There are some neat posters. Here they are:

BURGER KING - THE WHOPPER FREAKOUT

When was the last time you had a burger? And are you a regular fast-food customer? I have to confess I eat those fast-food burger all the time. Sometimes, it could be three times a week. I know it's insane and not very good for health. But what to do, when you are a bachelor and working late nights all the time and lazy to drive out and get other food. So, the phone delivery is the easiest. I order the McDonalds all the time coz there's no delivery for Burger King. I wish they have coz seriously, i prefer BK than McD. BK is a bit pricey and I do wish they revise their prices down so that everyone could enjoy their selection of tasty burgers, especially their Whopper! Well, i actually like the Mushroom burger more. But if i want to save cost, then i go for the Ramli Burger. So, what if, if you go into McD and they don't sell Big Mac no more?? I guess customers can still opt for other burgers like McChicken or Double Cheese. But what if you go into BK and they don't sell Whopper?? Ah...i guess i would freakout too. Here, let's watch the customer's reaction when they were told Whopper was discontinued from the menu.

BIONIC WOMAN

Here it is, the new Bionic Woman showing in Sept..(in US). Looks good for the first show but i seriously doubt it would be good after a few episodes. Will see. Directed by the same guy who did Battlestar Gallactica. Now he tries his hands on reviving old classic. So the new Bionic woman is not accompanied by those slow-mo sound effects. Darn, ithink that was cool...then.

so, you can see the new clip here:

and ya...i found oni this poster online of Bionic Boy. Not so nice, though. I remember there was a mechanical dragon with fire at the bottom as well.

ah..this is a HK-Phillipine movie :)

1-18-08

1-18-08
what is that? That is the movie which is goin to open in US in January.
It was aired in U.S before the Transformers movie and it blew the audience away. It was so mysterious that no one knows what it is all about. The producers and the film distributor are all tight-lipped and this is one of the best mktg campaign this summer.
Directed by J.J Abrams who did the Mission Impossible 3 and Lost, expect more mysterious mktg gimmicks.

1 2 3 4

Feist - that's the name of this artist and her new album, The Reminder was released in May, 2007. I have this album sent to me but i didn't know it was good until i accidentally stumbled onto her music video on youtube. Only after that i realized her new album was sitting on my table for more than a week. A little folksy and pop that's how i describe it but overall, it is a good listen. I prefer her previous album, Let It Die as there are more catchy tunes and somehow it sounded a bit Abba to me or sometimes a bit Bjork.

I picked this song 1234 and you have to watch it. I watched this video over and over again and it is so seamlessly made or edited. How did they do it?

and you should watch this as well. Taken frm her old album, Let It Die, this song is called One Evening. Look at the dance steps. Isn't it cheesy? :) i like it!!!!

Tracey Thorn

I came across this video and i kinda like it. Thought i share it with all of you. I've nvr heard of her. Well, pardon me. But i guess she is not widely known to many here either. I downloaded (haha..okok...i know that's not legal) her album and ya, it's good.

The video reminds me of those good old days when we were in the 80s and used to have many house parties. And it was exactly the same where the guys would go up to the girls sitting and asked for a dance. And ya...when i was young, i do have parting lines too. Ooooo...so cina apek, huh. And my friends wud say, i still look cina apek now.... (*curse)
